To Bring to the Training:

- Circus Aerial Safety manual
- Water bottle and any other workout gear
- Clothing without any embellishments (buttons, sequins, zippers, velcro)
To Do Before the Training:
- Purchase an Aerial Circus Training and Safety Manual (one can be bought during class as well)
- Download the Guidelines for the Circus Arts Safety Network for future reference
- Decide which apparatus you will train/certify in (one apparatus per training)
- Decide if you are going to pursue a Beginner Teacher Certification
- We use Zoom for our online training & will need a good view of each other from the following locations:
|
- Test the sound quality in your Aerial space. You will want a Bluetooth headset (with fresh batteries or fully charged) to wear so that you can hear us during the training and not be distracted by background noises.
- If you you have installed and will be using the Zoom desktop application, please download the updates here.
- Prior to getting onto Zoom, perform network connectivity optimizations as follows:
|
- For Silks and Hammock Trainees - Whether you have your rig this weekend or not, part of this training includes practicing rigging and tying fabric together. Therefore, please have a spare pair of aerial fabric and a rescue 8 handy so we can work on tying together. If you are using your rig this weekend with us, it would also be ideal if you can easily take your silks down and we can rig together for our lesson if time allows.
- For Hammock Trainees - We ask that you take time to look at this video on how to tie a hammock.
If you are pursuing Beginner Teacher Certification:
- Become CPR & First Aid certified (can be done after the training, but must be done before certification is awarded)
- Download and fill out the Beginner Teacher Certification Application for your chosen apparatus.
- Pay the assessment fee here if you think that you will be ready for an Assessment on the last day. (You can pay this during the training after we verify that you're ready)
- REQUIREMENT FOR STUDIO/PROGRAM OWNERS: 4hr+ rigging course/workshop. Information on our suggested rigging experts is here. If you have taken a rigging class/workshop by someone other than one of our suggested riggers, please submit clear documentation with your application so we can verify.
- For a more comprehensive list of certification requirements, please click here.
If Things Change:
- If your plans change and you cannot make the training, please contact the Circus Arts Institute ASAP.
- If any information on the registration form has changed, please feel free to email the changes to [email protected].
