In this workshop, you will learn how to:
- Introduce partner, family and group adaptive acrobatics exercises and discuss their therapeutic application in the Circus Arts Therapy® room.
- Discuss examples of evidence-based teaching and their application in the Circus Arts Therapy® room.
- Identify the primary learning modalities used in the Circus Arts Therapy® room.
- Describe tools for empowerment as they apply in the Circus Arts Therapy® room.
- Introduce clowning and mime activities and discuss their therapeutic application in the Circus Arts Therapy® room.
- Explain some marketing tips for growing your practice incorporating Circus Arts Therapy®.
- List the physical and mental benefits of the Circus Arts Therapy® fitness and play therapy program.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Circus Arts Therapy® Training Level 2 will introduce you to partners, family, and group adaptive acrobatics as well as some fun ways to use clowning and mime in the Circus Arts Therapy® room. You can add these new additions to your toolbox and use them in sibling, partner, family, and group sessions.
Circus Arts Therapy® Training Level 2 is a 7-hour course based on the publication, Circus Arts Therapy® Fitness and Play Therapy Program Shows Positive Clinical Results which can be found in the International Journal of Play Therapy, April 2018 edition here: http://dx.doi.org/10.1037/pla0000068.
During this course we will discuss learning modalities, evidence based teaching practices and tools for empowerment as they apply in the Circus Arts Therapy® room. We will review some marketing tips for growing your practice incorporating Circus Arts Therapy®. Therapists will be introduced to the term ‘Social Circus’ and we will end by summarizing the physical and mental benefits of Circus Arts Therapy®.
